PORT DENISON SAILING CLUB, 1 THOMAS STREET BOWEN QLD 4805 portdenisonsc@gmail.com
The Port Denison Sailing Club (PDSC) is located on Bowen's 'Front Beach'. Soaking in history as the 2nd oldest club in Queensland, the wide sandy beach and steady trade winds has made our club ideal for dinghy sailing since 1864. Bowen was populated post gold rush and most people arrived in the seaside town by sailing boat which at the time was the preferred method of transport in North Queensland.
The clubhouse is fully equipped for hosting regattas and provides a picturesque vantage point with the northern Whitsunday Islands as a backdrop. The sailing season starts in September and goes through to Easter. PDSC hosts our annual regatta 'Sail Bowen' in November every year which attracts sailors from all over the state with many regulars returning with their families each year to enjoy the laid back vibe of PDSC.

PDSC LEARN TO SAIL

Some of the benefits of teaching your kids to sail:
- It’s fun, it's wet, and it doesn’t have to be expensive.
- Sailing clubs are a great community of likeminded families, and these families travel to some great locations to sail as well.
- Wrestling with wind and water teaches patience, resilience, practicality and problem solving.
- Sailing encourages a sense of independence and responsibility, planning and preparation.
- Sailing is for life: The skills you learn can be utilised throughout your whole life, no joke!
Talk to the club if you’re interested in seeing what sailing opprotunities are available for you to get involved in.
